Consistent with other years the trails are all mowed and ready for action.  As noted last year our trails are no longer restricted to skiing in the winter months but can be used in the summer as well.  Last winter stretched out until almost the end of March with generally good snow and weather conditions.  The trails this summer were generally dry and being mowed provided good conditions for more people to use them for Nordic walking.  There were an additional 90 trees planted in addition to the trees planted last year.  Unfortunately the trees struggled last year due to wildlife feasting on their leaves and this year there was a lack of moisture resulting in many of them not surviving.  Some new signs from Sask. Ski have been posted at the start of the trail regarding skiing etiquette which are both informative and look great.

There has been interest once again in starting up a Jack Rabbit ski program for children of ages between 6 and 12 years old.  All children registered for this must be registered for the annual pass, equipment rental (where applicable) and the Jack Rabbit registration fee.  This is great to see as it was well attended last year.

We are attaching a registration and waiver form to this letter for the 2023-24 year.  Please note a Class B membership will allow you to not only ski during the winter but also allow you to use the trail for Nordic walking during the summer.  Rental equipment in the club house is continuing to be provided for cross country skiing as well as several sets of Nordic walking poles for participants to use on the trail during the summer months.

We have an active web site (https://rocanvillecrosscountrytrails.ca) and a Facebook site to keep the public updated.   Both sites can be reached by just typing ‘Rocanville Cross Country Ski Club’.

Please note Sask. Ski uses the Zone 4 website to record memberships so joining online is preferable.   It saves re-entering information by volunteers where paper forms are used.

Options for registering and paying the fees as identified below:
   1) Register directly with Zone 4 and pay using your credit card.
       a. Go to ‘Zone4.ca/register’
       b. Type ‘Rocanville’
       c. Click on ‘Registration Form – 2023-24’
       d. Complete form.
   2) Leave the registration forms together with the funds at the Club House.
   3) E-mail your registration forms and payment directly to our ski club address at rocskiclub@gmail.com.   If you pay this way, you need to scan & e-mail your registration form to this address or just leave it at the club house.

Deadline for Registrations:  June 30, 2024

December 2022

Consistent with other years the trails are all mowed and ready for action. As noted last year our trails are no longer restricted to skiing in the winter months but can be used in the summer as well. This year the weather was such that there was water laying and trees down in various areas on the trail which made Nordic walking difficult until later in the summer. There were also more than 400 trees planted in three different areas that we hope will continue to develop in the next year. Their progress has been slow due to wildlife feasting on their leaves. Some major renovations were made to the Club House including new siding.

There has been renewed interest in starting up a Jack Rabbit ski program for children of ages between 6 and 12 years old. All children registered for this must be registered for the annual pass, equipment rental (where applicable) and the Jack Rabbit registration fee. This is great to see as there has not been a program for children for many years.

We are attaching a registration and waiver form to this letter for the 2022-23 year. Please note an Annual Trail Pass will allow you to not only ski during the winter but also allow you to use the trail for Nordic walking during the summer. Rental equipment in the club house is continuing to be provided for cross country skiing as well as several sets of Nordic walking poles for participants to use on the trail during the summer months.

We now have an active web site (https://rocanvillecrosscountrytrails.ca) and a Facebook site to keep the public updated. Both sites can be reached by just typing ‘Rocanville Cross Country Ski Club’.

Please note Sask. Ski uses Zone 4 to do the administrative task of registering skiers. All registrations have to go to Zone 4 either directly or be separately input by our club.

Options for registering and paying the fees as identified below:

  1.  Register directly with Zone 4 and pay using your credit card.
    • a. Go to ‘Zone4.ca/register’
    • b. Type ‘Rocanville’
    • c. Click on ‘Registration Form – 2022-23’
    • d. Complete form.
  2.  Leave the registration forms together with the funds at the Club House.
  3.  E-mail your registration forms and payment directly to our ski club address at rocskiclub@gmail.com. If you pay this way, you need to scan & e-mail your registration form to this address or just leave it at the club house.
